Comfort Company Seating to demo

SelfCare has a full range of demo seating from the Comfort Company. This seating is the now used on the Stellar, Bentley and T20 Express Seating chair packages from PDG. They include the Acta Back and M2 Elevate cushion. The Acta Back Deep is available for an additional $154 on chair pricing. Here is a summary of the PDG on chair seating:

Padded lap trough trays to demo

SelfCare has received two new padded ½ lap trough trays, one with the extended lateral and one with extended elbow stop for demo. These are slide on, flip up trays that assist with arm positioning, especially for stroke clients. Side (left or right) must be indicated. They are available from any for demo from any SelfCare store. Just give us a call!

Need a reliable tilt chair with a 350 lb weight capacity? Think of the Stellar Express . When it is ordered with 21″ or 22” widths the weight capacity is increased to 350 lbs. There is an upcharge for these two widths of $400.00. The depth is always adjustable from 16″ to 21”. A 350 lb weight capacity Stellar, 22” wide with an Acta back would be available for $3475. This is great value!

Bariatric underarm crutches – with 1000 lbs weight capacity
Spenco wheelchair pad – provides extra comfort to someone in a manual wheelchair, especially on during these cold days
Bed rail pads – reduces the risk of pressure sores, bumps and bruises for the bed ridden patient
Glide lock sheet – one way slide to keep someone from sliding out of a chair (regular chair or wheelchair)

USPA is now Clean Touch

Beginning January 23, 2012, the “USPA” name will change to “Clean Touch”. SelfCare carries the Clean Touch Bidet, a modern bidet that simply replaces your toilet seat. It has warm water spray, a heated seat & warm air dry using a hand-held remote control.

What is Low Air Loss Therapy?

True low air loss therapy uses a blower pump to remove excess moisture while immersing the patient into the mattress. Low air loss is defined both by the effectiveness of moisture control and method of moisture control. With the low air loss mattress, moisture is dissipated between the mattress and the cover. The baffles have tiny holes which continually blow air. The moisture from the patient transfers through the vapour permeable fabric cover to interact with the air blowing up from the mattress. This process keeps the patient cool and dry without blowing air directly onto the patient. While reduction of excess moisture is a distinguishing feature of low air loss mattresses, their primary objective is still to immerse the patient into the surface for increased contact area and even redistribution of pressure so blood flow is maintained for areas of high risk.

Vicair Insert – Snaps and Velcro

The Vicair insert is now available with BOTH snaps and Velcro. While we haven’t tested them to confirm the snaps are compatible with the foam leveling pads that can be used with ROHO mattress sections, the product information says they will be. ROTEC Multi-Tech Bed – Warranty Update

Rotec has increased the warranty on the actuators and electronic components for the Multi-Tech and Multitech 8 beds effective January 1, 2012. The new warranty will be for 3 years instead of 2 years.
