Walkers and Taxis don’t always get along

If you take your walker in a taxi, be sure to ask the taxi driver to not shut the trunk on the brake cables or handle. We have had yet another incident of a walker being damaged by a taxi driver.
The outcome? The taxi company told the customer it would be an ICBC claim because the car was to blame. We called ICBC to follow up and ICBC has requested the customer bring the walker to the claim centre. ICBC won’t yet confirm it will be a claim until they see the walker.
So, if you use a taxi – make sure and let the driver know it is important that the walker is correctly in the truck or it can get damaged.
